DEVELOPING A BETTER CHURCH @ HARMONY FOR YOU - OUR NEIGHBORS!
Harmony Church is currently making updates and renovations to many aspects of the church. You may have noticed recently as you drive-by that trees have been removed around the pavilion area to make it safer for everyone. We have just completed painting the entire exterior of the building and the worship area inside the building. We still have much to do outside including making the surface of the playground area softer and safer for children when playing, landscaping and new signage and lighting. Stay tuned for updates on continued renovations to make our grounds, building and guest services better for you as our neighbors!
FOR THE LADIES!
If you are a woman looking for a place to connect with other women, find a sense of community or looking for a place to both grow personally and be involved in service projects to benefit others, this might be the place for you. Times and events for women to get together are being planned for this spring and summer. Service projects will include making meals for Starfish Ministry and CARES Homeless shelter. If you would like more information on this women's group, please contact Jan Williams jklb55@yahoo.com or Gina Claeys gandmclaeys@gmail.com.
THURSDAY CHAIR EXERCISE CLASS @ HARMONY CHURCH, 9:30am
Every Thursday morning at Harmony Church, you can attend a chair exercise class beginning at 9:30am. It is free, a great way to exercise without standing and to meet new people! It is held in the multipurpose room. All are invited to attend!
SURFACE BREAKERS LIFE GROUP @ HARMONY CHURCH
If you are looking for a space to connect with other people and talk about the ups and downs of life, this might be the group for you. This group meets each first and third Monday of the month from 7:00-8:00pm at Harmony Church. It is not a class. Each week is different. You don't have to talk; you can just attend and listen. You are always welcome to give it a try. If you decide it's not for you, no one will pressure you. The purpose of the group is to help people in our neighborhood find connection and community with others.
THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH
If you are feeling dry and thirsty from the heat of this summer, you will be looking for cool water to help you cool down and quench your thirst. But sometimes, it is more than just our physical bodies that get dry and are in need of water. Sometimes it is our very souls that feel dry and thirsty...when we begin thinking or saying, "is this all there is?" It is when nothing seems to satisfy us...or when we feel like we don't really have a purpose. Then we know we are running dry and our souls are thirsting for more than the culture can give us. Here are some words from Jesus for you to consider during these hot and dry days of summer:
"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." (John 7:37-38)
May the Lord bless you and your family!
