ONLINE / MARKETING
80%+ of all people who visit a church for the first time have already visited the church online. A church’s online presence is the new front door to the church
Our website currently reaches people in multiple nations, reaches thousands monthly and has several blogs in the top searches of Google regularly
Will be making changes to our website format to make it more guest-friendly, streamlined and more effective for those not familiar with the church or Christianity
Website will become a place for people to sign up for various things, give their information and prayer requests
Website will continue to have good Christian teaching in the form of blogs and articles, but will be reorganized to make it easier to navigate, will have more video content, bible studies and next steps for people to take after accepting Christ or visiting Harmony
Send out a monthly Community Newsletter to all of our neighbors who have given us their email addresses. This list continues to grow and these mailings started in 2025
Increase our presence on Facebook and Instagram with daily postings and interactions. We began this in 2025 and will continue to do so. These daily postings will light, engaging, informative and uplifting to people
Videos will increase on our social media sites
Neighborhood Outreach events, mailing of post cards and follow-up are part of our overall marketing plan to help our neighbors get to know us, trust us and see Harmony as a church that cares about them
MENTAL HEALTH
We will continue to support Mental Health Awareness as a local church
We currently have a counseling service located at Harmony, Reduce Stress and Thrive
We have a fund to help people get access to the counseling they need for our counseling service, Reduce Stress and Thrive
We promote mental health counseling on our website and social media sites and will continue to do so because we know it is important
We have content on our website about mental health and monthly videos on our website and social media sites from Reduce Stress and Thrive Counseling Services with tools to help people better navigate their challenges
A sign will be installed on our property to promote and advertise counseling to our community for those who are in need of local help
WOMEN’S MINISTRY
(HEARTS IN HARMONY)
Starting date: February 2026
Purpose: to host 3-4 outreach events per year, host monthly meetings/gatherings, and serve the community through service projects and partnering with other organizations to bless our neighbors
GUEST SERVICES
Beginning in late summer/early fall of 2026, we will begin to revise the outside of the main entrance designating it as our entryway into the building. It will be clear, festive and decorative to give people a good feeling as they enter to gather to worship with others
Beginning in late summer/early fall of 2026, the inside of the entrance to the building where the café is located and the entrance to the sanctuary, will be redesigned to be more decorative and sending the clear message that guests are welcome. We look to create a new fresh space that communicates to our guests who we are, that we are here for them, that we want to answer their questions and meet their needs
We will be removing the old mailbox system that is rarely used anymore. It will be moved to a different location. The entryway will be cleaned up and be a place where guests can find information that will be helpful to them. The current Info Center will also be removed and a fresh look will also be found in the back of the sanctuary
New gift bags for guests will be designed. A Connect Card will be available for guests to fill out to obtain some basic information from them and to find out what their needs are. They will also have the option to fill this out online on our website
The goal to create a new space and a guest center is expected to be completed by the end of 2026
WORSHIP GATHERING
Our worship gathering needs to be a partnership between our best efforts and God’s Spirit leading and moving among His people
Beginning in the spring of 2026, our Sunday worship gathering will move to 10:30am with a countdown video notifying everyone present that we are about to begin
Our challenge beginning in 2026 and into the future is to bring an upbeat experience to people, while talking about real life issues in a positive way through the hope of the Gospel, and to give space to the Spirit to speak and for people to be sensitive to His presence in their lives
We will be assessing both the content and spirit of our worship gatherings on a regular basis so that people feel they are authentic, speaking to their needs and honoring God
We will give opportunities for people to pray and be prayed for following our worship gathering each Sunday
We will continue to use a variety of music during our worship gatherings to help meet the needs of all people, recognizing music is a very individual thing and it speaks to people differently
We will especially be sensitive in our worship gatherings that the church is ultimately for those who have not yet been reached. We will be making changes to be more accommodating to guests and to communicate that they are very welcome
We will look at ways to make the physical space of the sanctuary warmer and more appealing to people by removing clutter, decorating appropriately, while still allowing people the freedom to come and go as they need to during worship and to bring items from the café into the sanctuary
During worship gatherings, we will emphasis next steps for people to take in response to the message of the day. And we will invite and challenge people to engage in the mission of the church through prayer, giving or serving
CHILDRENS & FAMILY MINISTRY
Reaching new families and their children and teens is a high priority for us as a church
We currently have a children’s church program that is meeting the needs of our current families and children. However, we recognize there are many more families and children in our area who could benefit from this ministry. We are looking to grow this area of our church to benefit our neighbors currently and into the future
We have been searching for a new children’s ministry director since February, 2025 both locally and on multiple platforms. We have not been able to identify the right person to lead this ministry since our previous director left. We will continue to pray and search. If you know of anyone who might be a candidate for this position, please let us know. We would love to talk with them
OUTREACH
Outreach beyond our four walls is a core value at Harmony. We do this in multiple ways including giving, conducting drives and having persons from Harmony serving or volunteering at local organizations such as CARES, New Hope, Dillsburg Senior Center, Starfish Ministries and CAPC
We conduct weekly exercise classes for those in our neighborhood
We partner with the Central PA Blood Bank several times a year for community blood drives
We do several neighborhood outreach events that are completely free for all who attend. These events provide food, games, fun things for kids to participate in and a time for neighbors to gather together and for people to meet new people and make new friends
We have a monthly Community Newsletter we send out to our neighbors informing them of what Harmony Church offers for them and area activities that they may want to participate in or be a part of
We will continue to look at ways in 2026 and 2027 to further connect with our neighbors, understand their needs and develop programs to help meet their spiritual, mental health and physical needs
NEXT STEPS
Next steps are what happens next. This is a question we ask all the time, “what is the next step?” We ask this when purchasing a new car, planning a trip, dealing with a health issue or in a relationship. In Acts 2, after Peter shared the gospel, they were called to next steps – things like repentance, baptism and being a part of the early church through prayer, study, fellowship and breaking of bread
This is true in the contemporary church of today. After guests visit a church, what comes next? What next steps could they take to connect further with the church? What response might they have to the message that was presented? If people aren’t presented with a next step, they will never get on the path to following Jesus. Following Jesus isn’t saying a prayer or stating you believe in Him, it is about following Him. It is about changing your life to conform to the calling He has on your life
Harmony hasn’t had clear next steps for guests after they attend one of our worship gatherings. In 2026, one of our primary goals is to correct this and give people a path to discipleship – to following Jesus in our current world
What might this path or next steps look like? Here are some options that we are working on providing to people:
Life Groups, Bible studies (in-person, online), available free resources and devotional materials, support groups, counseling, opportunities to serve in various ministries within the church or being involved in ministry outside the walls of the church, helping people, caring for people in need, praying and giving of both money and time to God’s Kingdom
