Welcome to the "G" Word!
Hey there! Welcome to my newest adventure - The ‘G’ Word blog. I’m so glad you stopped by! My name is Gina, partly the reason for the ‘G’ (but really for God;) ). I am a forty-something wife and mother of two pre-teen girls and stepmom of a 23 year old Army soldier. My husband and I have been married for 18 years and friends since Junior High School. I am compassionate, forgiving, crafty, stubborn, funny and a realist. I love Jesus, family, animals, books, photography and sarcasm and a whole lot more!
I’ll be honest, I’ve never written a blog before. While the concept of blogging is not completely foreign to me, (I do read the internet after all) the notion that I would write one was NOT on my radar until a few months ago. It was during a meeting regarding updating our church’s website that the opportunity was presented. “You want me to do what, now? Share my personal story and experiences and what God is doing in my life?” Whoa!
As I began to consider this request I thought of several things. First, I have been known to keep a journal off and on over the years so I’ve already been doing some private writing. Second, I’ve always found it much easier to express my feelings and thoughts through writing as compared to speaking. And third I thought, “What’s the worst that can happen? I spend a whole lot time and energy baring my soul and no one reads it.” It could happen, but I can tell you that I have already grown spiritually with the Lord through this process, so don’t you worry for me. God’s got my back!
The apostle John says “I proclaim what I heard, what I saw with my own eyes, what I looked at, and my hands touched... We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you may also have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.” -1John 1-4
As with John, I write this blog so that you may have fellowship with us. I’ll share with you my journey to loving Christ and loving life, and pray that my experiences will bless you and possibly inspire you to live a life in Christ. And if I know God, I’m sure He will find a way to teach me more about myself and what I am capable of along the way. He will make my joy complete.
If there is any way we at Harmony Church can help you on your journey or if you have a question or an idea for my blog please feel free to send a message through Harmony Church Facebook. We’d love to hear from you!
Until next time, remember to be a blessing to someone today.
